This student volunteer program, sponsored by Delegate Joe Vogel, offers a unique opportunity to step into the world of public service and make a real impact in your community. Designed to inspire and empower the next generation of leaders, the program welcomes students who are eager to engage in civic action, explore how government works, and develop meaningful leadership skills. Whether you're driven by a passion for change or simply curious about the political process, this is your chance to get involved in shaping Maryland’s future—no prior experience required, just a genuine commitment to serving others.

We’re looking for motivated, curious, and compassionate students who are interested in public service, civic engagement, or political campaigns, and who are excited to contribute to their communities. Participants should be located in or nearby Gaithersburg, Maryland and able to commit 2–3 hours per week. Parent or guardian approval is required for those under 18.  As a fellow, you’ll play an active role in supporting Democratic campaigns through hands-on volunteer work such as canvassing, phone and text banking, and voter outreach.

You’ll also attend community events alongside Delegate Vogel and his team, connecting directly with constituents and supporting civic participation. Throughout the program, you’ll take part in weekly trainings and seminars covering campaign strategy, communications, organizing, leadership, and public policy. Along the way, you’ll gain valuable insights from elected officials, campaign professionals, and community leaders, while collaborating with fellow students on projects that promote civic engagement and voter education. ​
